“ Food is always good Cashier was snippy when I asked about menu. Ambiance....we listened to the cashier and cook argue about the discounts they get from the time we got there until we left. ”
“ They have the BEST Chowder!! It's our go to when going to Brookings as we always order the family chowder and take it back to our campsite! The ladies are always great. ”
“ I ordered the small fish and chips, and cup of clam chowder. I thought the fish needed some salt, but it was perfectly crispy and not oily. The tartar sauce was great! My husband got the halibut fish and chips and bowl of clam chowder. He liked the halibut a lot. Busy place but food was fast and the place was fairly clean, especially for how Busy they were. ”
“ Went to eat on a Thursday night @6 pm. They were busy and the food was ready in 35 minutes. Not a long wait to enjoy freshly cooked seafood. As always, the food was fantastic. We ordered a clam strip dinner and a shrimp dinner. Cooked to perfection and not greasy. Their coleslaw is the bomb. This place is always busy but so worth the wait. Drive 1 1/2 hours to eat there! ”
“ The food was really good. The service was ??? The ambience says the food is really good and you're on the water so be happy with these picnic benches. We visited about five in the afternoon on a Monday in July. There was one cashier/waitress, she was taking orders, ringing them up and when they were ready doing the final preparation on them and delivering to wherever the people are sitting. That is too much work for one person at a popular beach shack restaurant. You have a line of people that want to eat and two cooks behind the counter. We were second in line, placed our order and waited a ridiculously long amount of time for the food to be done. Our order was for three meals. We ordered fish and chips, a bread bowl of clam chowder, and a chicken sandwich. I didn't look at my watch and I wish I did when we placed the order. I'm pretty patient and it would not occur to me to keep track of the amount of time it took to get the order.. . I don't recall waiting so long at another restaurant ever before for casual fast dining food. The only saving grace was that the food was so good. Everybody wanted more and with that length of a wait there was no way another morsel would be ordered ever, ever again. Hopefully, this was just a once in a while thing that they were understaffed . I have high hopes for the town of Brookings that eventually it might cater more to tourists. It looks like a sad, depressed town but so many people visit this area all the time. This restaurant deserves to succeed. We were drawn here by the location in the marina and the good reviews on the food. I hope people continue to visit it and order food and I hope they're able to give better service despite the fact that they made the poor choice to post a handwritten sign telling everybody to put up with the slow service or leave it. ”
“ The food and Service are both really good with a big selection to choose from. I had the 2 piece fish with tater tots, it was excellent. They do not serve alcohol, so we walked next door to the little store and got a 16oz beer for $1.85 ( good price)... You gotta have beer with fish & chips, right? I highly recommend this place! We stay at Beachfront RV park or Beachfront Inn and ride our bikes over. Inside or outside seating available. LOVE IT! ”
“ All we had was the soup, top notch! We saved what little was left over for later and enjoyed it then. Actually the whole Brookings Vaca was amazing, kind people with great views of the ocean what more could you ask for. Sincerely Andrew H. Lowe ”
